As Automation Engineer, you will serve as a technical expert responsible for ensuring outstanding customer support, providing product feedback to our development teams, and delivering turnkey solutions in Europe. You will oversee the VXC in Berlin and lead technical training sessions.
Your mission is to guarantee exceptional customer satisfaction and successful deployment of turnkey projects while adhering to expectations and lead times.
More specifically, the role includes but is not limited to:
Customer Support – Provide comprehensive support throughout the sales cycle, including:
- Training: Conduct VAP, pre-sale, and post-sale training sessions covering technical onboarding, assembly, maintenance, and support during equipment commissioning.
- Logistics and Operations: Address logistics and delivery issues, act as liaison between operations, sales, and clients. Handle order processing, follow-up, returns, and Zendesk administration.
- Remote Support: Engage with customers in Remote Support subscription calls, especially VIP clients.
- Communication Management: Monitor calls and ensure proper routing. Collaborate with departments to improve customer experience.
- Process Optimization: Create a roadmap for continuous improvement, optimize delivery processes, and provide feedback to relevant teams.
Integration – Lead the deployment division in EMEA by managing:
- Project Management: Oversee delivery and commissioning of complex equipment, facilitating collaboration.
- Pre-Sale Support: Assist in testing and leverage product expertise during pre-sales.
- Turnkey Projects: Manage customer communications related to projects.
- On-Site Deployment: Install, configure, deploy, and commission projects at client sites, focusing on hardware and software integration.
- Post-Commissioning Support: Ensure smooth transition into operations post-deployment.
- Documentation: Develop and refine delivery documentation for transfer to other teams.
- Workspace Optimization: Maintain the Berlin VXC Demo Room and warehouse zones for productivity.
Technical Expertise – Become a subject matter expert on Vention’s products, including:
- Automation System Design: Program and validate automation systems using Vention MachineMotion, MachineLogic, Python, and robot programming.
- Robotics: Support and validate robot applications with Fanuc, Doosan, Universal Robot, and EPSON platforms.
- Automation Programming: Expert in MachineLogic, Python, Ethernet IP, and Low-Level Socket API.
Qualifications
- Background in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics, Computer, Electro-mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Proficiency in German and English; additional European languages a plus.
- Good computer skills, with experience in programming, preferably Python.
- Experience with Linux terminal is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, comfortable presenting to clients.
- Passionate about client interactions and mechanical design.
- Willingness to travel approximately 15% of the time.
