Our engineering department is a close-knit team of over 30 employees covering all engineering aspects in-house. We operate like a family, supporting each other, with regional and international specialists. Our team communicates in both German and English. The Automation / OT Engineer focuses on the operation and maintenance of automation and operational technology (OT) systems in biopharmaceutical production. The role emphasizes ensuring these systems are efficient, reliable, and compliant with regulatory standards. It also involves leading projects to enhance system performance and process quality.

  1. Operation and Maintenance: Ensure the efficient and compliant operation of automation and OT systems. Conduct regular maintenance to maximize uptime and minimize breakdowns.
  2. System Administration: Manage building management systems (BMS) such as Desigo and Honeywell. Perform administrative tasks to ensure system reliability and performance.
  3. Project Management: Lead automation and OT projects from design through commissioning and qualification, ensuring alignment with operational goals and compliance requirements.
  4. SOP Development and Optimization: Author, review, and optimize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for clarity, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
  5. Deviation Investigation and CAPA Management: Lead investigations into system deviations, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  6. Technical and Design Expertise: Strong background in automation and OT, with skills in managing building management systems (Desigo, Honeywell).
  7. Project Management Skills: Ability to lead and manage automation and OT projects, coordinating with stakeholders and adhering to timelines and budgets.
  8. Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Excellent at resolving technical issues in hardware and software.
  9. Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of GMP, FDA, EMA, and other relevant regulatory guidelines.

Educational Background and Professional Experience

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years in automation and OT system operation and maintenance, with project management experience.
