Automation and Service Engineer (m/f/d)

Under the supervision of the head of NDT systems and integrations sales, the incumbent, in collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders, participates in the installation and maintenance activities of large NDT solutions at customer sites, partnering with colleagues dispatched by the factory. In addition, he is involved in implementation of feasibility studies for new applications. He establishes and implements the corrective measures necessary to achieve its set objectives and may be called upon to go on site to other countries for system installations. The new lab in Evident for this position will be based in Opera close to Milano.
Responsibilities
- Finetune and optimise PLCs Programs and HMIs (Siemens and Allen Bradley and/or others)
- Actively participate in the installation of new systems together with the project team, providing support in adjustment and testing of automation software and related hardware
- Supervise and implement automation projects
- Propose and integrate developments and innovations in system automation
- Supervise, from the point of view of the technological direction, the developments on the automation platforms
- Understand the application requirements of various technologies
- Provide maintenance training to customers
- Participate in the design of electrical plans for the automation part
- Support after-sales service activities
- Be present on site during installations
- Perform feasibility studies supported by NDT specialists
- Represent a PoC for customers for maintenance activities and problem resolution
- Perform any other related task requested by his immediate superior
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, combined with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in programming industrial and automation equipment or systems installation
- Basic knowledge of robotic programming and C++/C# (.Net)
- Knowledge of NDT, ultrasound or eddy current would be an asset
- Level of English: Advanced
- French knowledge is an asset
- Ability to manage customer-supplier situations
- Advanced problem-solving skills
- Capability to work independently without continuous supervision
- Basic knowledge of how to perform maintenance on electromechanical systems
- Capacity to train personnel on maintenance activities, focused on achieving objectives and goals
- Ability to work in a team

- Autonomous, creative, and initiative-driven
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel up to 50% globally, for up to 3 weeks in a row
