To start as soon as possible, full time, permanent

Functional area: Engineering

About the department
The Department of Engineering provides services and technical expertise for onshore wind farms, photovoltaic and battery electric storage systems. These services are delivered from a Project’s early development (be it greenfield or repowering) including specification, tendering and design through to construction and operations. The Site Assessment and Modelling team within Project Engineering Germany handles layout design, energy calculation, and wind measurement services.

About the role
Based in Hamburg, Hanover, or Essen, you will coordinate and install wind monitoring equipment, ensuring data provision, management, and analysis of wind, energy, and climate data for our wind farm sites.

Your Tasks

  • Coordinate installation, refurbishment, and decommissioning of monitoring equipment; provide services to prospecting, development, operations, and third-party services.
  • Manage data collection, storage, and provision from meteorological masts, remote sensing, and third-party sources.
  • Conduct due diligence on measurement system documentation (design, calibration certificates, protocols).
  • Monitor measurement results to ensure quality and project timelines.
  • Plan and execute maintenance and repairs on measurement systems.
  • Analyze measurement data using industry-standard or in-house software (e.g., Windographer, MMMT, Smart Data Pipeline).
  • Support power performance and noise monitoring activities.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders and partners from installation to decommissioning, including communication with analysts, project teams, landowners, suppliers, and transport companies.
  • Review technical and tender documents, evaluate bids, and support contract negotiations.
  • Ensure compliance with international standards and safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • Vocational training with relevant experience or a university degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with measurement networks, data logging, and storage systems.
  • Stakeholder and project management experience.
  • Basic logistics and electronics knowledge.
  • Physical fitness for outdoor work.
  • Teamwork, autonomy, and flexibility to travel within Germany.
  • Proficiency in German and English.
  • Full driver's license including towing a trailer.

RWE Renewables offers development opportunities, an open culture, and modern work environment including mobile work, flexi-time, and additional benefits such as training, mentoring, and active networks like LGBTQI+, Women’s Network, and Empower Network.
