About our client

Our client is a successful performing lower mid-market private equity firm investing in high-growth mid-cap firms in DACH and neighbouring countries. Backed by a diverse range of mid-large German family-owned companies as investors, they can leverage this network to pursue meaningful value-creation strategies in their portfolio companies by providing capital, expertise and access to a wide network of industry experts. Having raised a new vehicle in 2023 (5th vintage), they are looking for an Associate to strengthen their deal team. You will screen and execute investments in a dynamic and entrepreneurial working environment, with exposure to financial analysis, due diligence, financing, and portfolio management projects.

What the job involves

• Execution of all relevant due diligence workstreams (e.g. commercial, financial, financing, legal and tax due diligence) including ongoing management of external advisors (e.g. strategy consultants, auditors, lawyers, tax consultants, industry experts).
• Active involvement in defining and implementing value creation initiatives to optimise portfolio companies.
• Develop and review financial models.
• Contribute constructive suggestions within team discussions to ensure all deals are of the highest quality.

Who we are looking for

• Previous experience gained within a consultancy (Big 4) and/or M&A advisory boutique.
• A down-to-earth style and ability to engage with Mittelstand across the DACH region.
• Native-level German skills and any other European language an asset.
