Job Description
- Develop image analysis solutions to generate decisive data from histopathology whole slide images, supporting drug development projects.
- Lead research, development, and application of cutting-edge artificial intelligence methods.
- Take a leadership role in image analysis within large-scale drug development programs.
- Share knowledge, best practices, algorithms, and software tools internally and externally through seminars, publications, and conferences.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders and interfacing functions such as pathology, data management, software development, and bioinformatics.
- Ensure compliance with AstraZeneca standards to support product quality and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in computer science, mathematics, physics, bioinformatics, or a related field, with focus on deep learning and computer vision, or equivalent industry experience (≥3-5 years).
- Experience in medical or biomedical image analysis, either postdoctoral or industry.
- Expertise in deep learning models for object detection, segmentation, and weakly-supervised learning.
- Proficiency in Python and scientific libraries (numpy, pandas, scikit-learn, scipy, opencv) and frameworks (tensorflow, pytorch).
- Knowledge of best practices in software development and model validation.
- Proven publication record and experience delivering AI solutions in scientific projects.
- Ability to manage sub-projects within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong conceptual, communication, and implementation skills for scientific ideas related to drug development and biomarkers.
- Experience with advanced image representation learning and multimodal fusion techniques is a plus.
- Familiarity with semi-supervised, self-supervised, few-shot, generative, or domain adaptation learning methods.
