Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management: Provide effective leadership and direct supervision to a team of professional individual contributors, ensuring alignment with operational goals. Manage personnel matters, including hiring, performance reviews, coaching, development, and positioning, while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Critical Infrastructure & Project Management: Oversee the planning, coordination, budgeting, and implementation of resources for critical infrastructure projects and maintenance. Apply your extensive knowledge in UPS, HVAC, generators, BMS, electrical, and mechanical installations to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the data center's operations. Provide strategic input and guidance on budget management and site capacity planning, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
- Customer Satisfaction: Enhance customer satisfaction by responding promptly to customer requests and maintaining high service standards. Conduct regular meetings with customers to review current operational activities and address any concerns.
- Vendor & Contractor Management: Oversee and manage vendor and contractor activities, ensuring all work is completed to meet or exceed Equinix’s standards. Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards, leveraging your critical facilities expertise.
- Testing & Incident Management: Lead start-up tests and commissioning processes, ensuring all systems function correctly and documenting any issues. Take charge of incident management, coordinating activities and guiding on-site staff to resolve issues effectively and efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in supervising and leading technical staff in a critical facilities environment.
- Extensive knowledge of building infrastructure systems, including UPS, HVAC, generators, BMS, electrical, and mechanical installations.
- Strong project management and coordination skills, with the ability to oversee complex projects from inception to completion.
- Expertise in vendor management, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage incidents with calm and efficiency.
