• Advanced Excel skills and data analysis capability.

• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in IFRS in line with Hexagon policies.

• Monitor cash flow, oversee payments, and maintain internal controls.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, reconciliations, and ledger activity.
• Review general ledger activity, journal entries, intercompany transactions, and tax filings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Support monthly reporting, financial analytics, and management reporting deadlines.
• Coordinate external audits and maintain compliance with internal controls, tax regulations, insurance requirements, and company policies.
• Support the FP&A team and Senior Finance Manager with financial reporting and analysis.
• Supervise, coach, and develop members of the accounting and controlling team.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and contribute to finance transformation initiatives.

The Location:

This position is based in Aachen, Germany. This is a full-time, permanent position. The primary business language is English. German language skills are considered an asset but are not required.

Salary Range:

€70,000–€95,000 gross annually, depending on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.

Responsibilities

As Assistant Controller (m/f/d) you will be responsible for these activities:

• Support the FP&A team and Senior Finance Manager with financial reporting and analysis.

Qualifications

Must Have

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum five years of progressive accounting experience, including at least two years in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, financial controls, and accounting principles.
• Experience preparing statutory financial statements and supporting external audits.
• Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger activities.
• Experience using ERP or financial reporting systems such as SAP, Oracle, Syteline, OneStream, QuickBooks, or similar.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting tight deadlines.
• Willingness to travel occasionally within Germany and internationally.

Nice To Have

• CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Experience with cost accounting, inventory accounting, or revenue recognition.
• Experience working within an international or matrix organization.
• Experience supporting finance transformation or continuous process improvement initiatives.
