THE ROLE & THE TEAM

At Zalando Beauty, we are seeking a proactive and trend-led Assistant Buyer to join our dynamic Buying team. As an Assistant Buyer for Beauty, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our product selection and brand strategies. Working closely with our Buyers, you will leverage your keen eye for trends and your deep understanding of the European market to curate a strong lineup of beauty products.

As an Assistant Buyer for Beauty, you will support the Buying team on product selection and brand strategies. You will work with the Buyer and on your own accounts to negotiate the best terms for the business with suppliers. You will also ensure the ordering process is efficient and compliant with Zalando’s processes and to assist the wider buying team where necessary and working in cooperation with the planning team. You support the team with analysis and trend topics, therefore contributing to the creative and commercial strategy of the unit.

What We'd Love You To Do (and Love Doing)

• Support the Buyers to negotiate the best possible terms with suppliers, i.e., margin, discounts, markdown support, and ZMS.
• Work closely with the Buyer and planning team to quantify new launch orders.
• Analyze performance with the planners, making recommendations to the buying team, e.g., to keep or discontinue products.
• Coordinate with Marketing and PR to be aware of promotional opportunities during negotiations with suppliers.
• Carry out research and see through the end-to-end process of products being raised to going online.
• Support your team in operational and functional matters, by creating, maintaining, & sending/cancelling orders and ensuring all steps are followed.
• Serve as the first contact person for our suppliers, supporting in setup and workflow.
• Work closely with our design, product, and planning teams to ensure product availability for purchase.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Fashion Management, or a similar field.
• Basic knowledge and first experience (+- 1 year) in Buying at an assistant level, with a passion for e-commerce.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, embrace collaboration, act proactively, and organize workload efficiently.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Google Tools, and a strong understanding of trends and products, especially in the European market.
