Job Overview

As an Art Director at Resident, you'll support our parent company, Ashley Home, shaping visual storytelling through photography and video. You’ll lead creative direction for product presentation across channels, from on-set production to 3D image creation, blending aesthetics with commercial impact to support brand growth. We seek a creative leader with a keen eye for composition, lighting, and styling, capable of guiding Ashley Home’s creative expression into its next chapter while maintaining a cohesive brand identity.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead creative development for campaigns, content, and storytelling across digital and retail platforms.
• Translate strategic briefs into compelling concept decks for stakeholders.
• Curate product assortments for shoots, balancing brand vision with merchandising and sales goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet product storytelling objectives.
• Create shot lists, storyboards, and briefs to guide production.
• Direct photo and video shoots, providing leadership and creative feedback on set.
• Establish visual standards and scalable templates for photography.
• Utilize emerging tools like AI imagery and stock resources for content creation.
• Work with 3D artists and CGI teams to produce photorealistic renderings.
• Oversee post-production and asset delivery, ensuring quality and deadlines.
• Maintain and evolve Ashley Home’s visual identity, pushing creative boundaries.
• Assist in production planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Stay updated on industry trends to inspire innovative creative solutions.

Skills/Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in art direction, especially in lifestyle photography/videography for home furnishings or interiors.
• Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Visual Communications, Photography, or related field preferred.
• Proven experience directing professional photo and video shoots from start to finish.
• Knowledge of 3D workflows and directing 3D artists for realistic renderings.
• Strong understanding of lighting, composition, color, and storytelling.
• Expertise in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom).
• Experience in production planning, budgeting, and team coordination.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors.
• Passion for interior design, home furnishings, and current trends.
• Experience with e-commerce, luxury, or retail brands is a plus.
