The Area Supervisor (m,w,d) is responsible for coordinating and supervising the proper operation of the corporate stores and monitoring general performance in order to meet sales and productivity goals. Creates and executes action items according to specific and individual situations. The incumbent will lead and coach direct reports and sales teams; ensure that personnel follow AML rules and policies accordingly with MGI general compliance requirements. Seeks for alternative business expansion and monitors competitors on a permanent basis. Takes responsibility for the safety and security aspects of the stores, and ensures that a first-class customer service is provided.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Builds, implements, and develops a comprehensive strategic business plan to meet growth, revenue and expense targets for MoneyGram Corporate Stores. Oversees performance of MoneyGram products.
  2. Leads and supervises employees within the business unit.
  3. Manages work schedules for Sales Associates.
  4. Responsible for warnings and corrective action plans as well as rewards and bonuses.
  5. Coaches staff to ensure the correct completion of Anti-money laundering measures and procedures.
  6. Trains and coaches employees on Anti-money laundering precautionary measures.
  7. Conducts research, assembles and analyzes data to prepare reports and documents on competitors, sales, and business opportunities (design and maintain databases).
  8. Performs periodical cash audits per store.
  9. Creates a base of vendors and contractors to support branches' needs and requirements.
  10. Reports and tracks technical issues and repairs as needed.
  11. Supervises and maintains each store with adequate signage, neatness, and order.
  12. Maintains relationships with landlords, vendors, and local authorities.
  13. Locates and suggests new premises to relocate or install new Corp Stores within the business unit area.
  14. Leads sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals for stores according to corporate targets and budgets.
  15. Creates specific strategies aimed to increase sales volume and retention of customers.
  16. Analyzes and determines expansion of new markets.
  17. Collaborates with Dir Owned Stores to determine goals per store.
  18. Identifies new local market opportunities.
  19. Reports branch performance and related issues to Dir Owned Stores on a weekly basis.
  20. Attends meetings to review and analyze branch performance.
  21. Contributes new ideas and proposals.
  22. Performs other duties as assigned.
  23. Receives calls and reports regarding security issues and events occurred at owned stores.

Qualifications

Education

Experience

  1. 5 years in the Remittances / Payments industry.
  2. 5+ years’ experience in a similar role, along with a High School Diploma or Equivalency.
  3. Fluent in English and German.
  4. Experience managing and supervising a large group of employees.
  5. Capacity to oversee POS remotely.
  6. Strong and professional customer focus.
  7. Strong communication skills – ability to interact with and be sensitive to a broad range of cultures and socio-economic backgrounds.
  8. Must understand supervisory approaches for work direction, coaching, people-oriented motivation, leadership, and disciplinary action.
