Overview

PORTWEST, a global leader in protective clothing, workwear, and PPE, is seeking an Area Sales Manager for its Europe North Regional Sales Team in the Hanover region. You will be based near Hanover or a nearby area within driving distance of your key customers.

We design, manufacture, and distribute market-leading workwear, safety clothing, and PPE from our own manufacturing facilities.

JOB SUMMARY

As an Area Sales Manager for Hanover, you will use your experience in PPE and/or workwear to sell Portwest products to retailers. We have grown significantly in recent years and are looking for you to continue this growth trajectory.

MAIN TASKS
  • Building high-quality business relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Conduct daily personal sales meetings to maintain and develop relationships with distributors, resellers and agents.
  • Identify existing customers with high growth potential. Create a roadmap for further development.
  • Identifying new business opportunities and completing the business plan.
  • Apply continuous and consistent acquisition strategies.
  • Consultative sales activity to identify customer needs and offer Portwest solutions that meet those needs.
  • Prepare clear and effective written proposals/offers for existing and potential customers.
  • Focus on selling new Portwest products by presenting samples during customer meetings.
  • To ensure effective follow-up to close sales.
  • Continuous market analysis, including monitoring marketing events such as trade fairs, seminars, exhibitions, and trade magazines.
  • Supporting dealers in promoting our products to end customers.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3-5 years of experience in selling PPE, workwear or safety clothing.
  • Ideally, you have experience in sales for a manufacturer, distributor, reseller or agent.
  • Sales experience in a related industry (e.g., automotive, tools, chemicals, MRO, etc.) that uses the same distribution network will also be considered.
  • Willingness to support Portwest's sales growth through active field sales.
  • Valid Class B driving license and willingness to drive throughout the region.
