As an Area Manager, you’ll ensure your site operates smoothly to meet customer demand. You will lead a team that maintains safety, efficiency, and high quality in our operations, and manage various projects across our network to enhance productivity.

1. Create, oversee, and promote a culture of safety and wellbeing
2. Analyze and implement changes to maintain high quality and productivity
3. Oversee projects to streamline processes, optimize productivity, and improve service quality within your area
4. Analyze shift performance against business objectives and implement actions for operational excellence
5. Collaborate with management colleagues to standardize shift practices

A day in the life

You’ll work on a shift pattern at one of our sites, focusing on maximizing productivity. Your main responsibilities include fostering a safety culture, maintaining quality and performance standards, overseeing process improvements, and driving implementation. Your day will vary from team management and operational duties to process improvements and contingency planning. You will also serve as a role model and mentor to new managers.

About the team

The Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) team is crucial to Amazon’s delivery speed. Using air, sea, and road transport, along with advanced sortation centers, the team ensures maximum efficiency. They leverage data to inform decisions, drive innovation, and improve efficiency, always prioritizing safety and sustainability in getting packages to customers quickly and reliably.

GRUNDQUALIFIKATIONEN

• A university degree
• Experience communicating with diverse stakeholders, including peers and leadership
• Experience using data or anecdotal evidence to influence decisions
• Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and German

BEVORZUGTE QUALIFIKATIONEN

• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies
• Experience in logistics environments
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
