About The Role
The Area Manager (AM) plays a pivotal role in developing and deploying the Business Assurance Strategy within the assigned Area, managing operations, sales, business development and people, while ensuring operational efficiency, compliance in alignment with the global management team. The AM drives a customer-centric environment, identifies business opportunities, and leads the team through continuous improvement and change, while achieving targets for sales, profit, revenue, cash flow, and quality.
The Main Areas Of Responsibility Are
- Business Assurance Strategy:
- Contribute to the development and deployment of the Business Assurance Strategy in the assigned Area.
- Ensure alignment with the global management team and organizational goals.
- Customer-centricity:
- Drive a customer-centric environment within the organization.
- Build and maintain strong strategic relationships internally and externally.
- Business Opportunities:
- Define and implement effective means to drive growth and success in the Area.
- Identify business opportunities, potential partners, markets, and competition.
- Leverage the Area's market conditions, business practices, and cultural nuances to maximize business growth.
- Financial and Quality Targets:
- Take responsibility for achieving targets for sales, profit, revenue, cash flow, and quality, while ensuring sustainable and profitable operations with full P&L responsibility.
- Ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
- Avoid actions that could harm the reputation or integrity of the organization.
- Leading People:
- Inspire the team to align with the organization's purpose, vision, and values.
- Provide strategic direction and foster diversity within the team.
- Empower team members through delegation, encourage professional growth, and offer timely individual feedback to enhance employee performance.

- Leading Change:

- Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Monitor Area’s KPIs and performance metrics, taking prompt action to address underperformance and optimize operations accordingly.
- Ensure accurate, consistent, and efficient reporting processes across teams, delivering regular performance reviews to Regional Management and key stakeholders.

Position Qualifications
- Proven experience of at least 5–7 years in a similar leadership role, preferably within Management System Certification and Training
- University degree in business, engineering, economics or a related field is recommended
- Familiarity with compliance standards and quality management systems and training services
- Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, and full P&L responsibility
- Proven track record of achieving financial and operational targets
- Experience in managing diverse teams and fostering collaboration across the organization
- Solution oriented mind-set combined with a pragmatic approach
- A commitment to DNV’s Leadership Principles, including customer focus, people engagement, performance delivery and forward thinking
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus
