The ACSM leads validation in prospective accounts in acute care hospitals (NICU, PICU, AICU, ED) and post-acute care hospitals and institutions where Vapotherm may be utilized in respiratory care. The role also involves clinical promotion and education on Vapotherm products and therapies to clinicians in existing and prospective accounts, supporting sales funnel development and revenue growth in the assigned territory. The ACSM promotes expansion of Vapotherm technology in existing accounts and provides education on correct product application via clinical education, training, and expertise, while maximizing product sales and utilization across care areas. The position involves working with healthcare providers in both acute and post-acute care settings.

This is a field-based role responsible for maximizing product adoption, building sustainable customer relationships, and ensuring superior education and support. The ACSM reports to the Country Manager within the Commercial organization and collaborates closely with sales, clinical, marketing, and other cross-functional teams to deliver on-label education to targeted customers. It is an entry-level clinical and sales hybrid position requiring the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and achieve business goals.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Promote Vapotherm's technologies to existing and potential customers to increase awareness and demand.
  2. Lead clinical education efforts to accelerate sales, increase effectiveness, and improve utilization at existing accounts through safe and effective therapy use.
  3. Develop and establish relationships with key decision-makers in each account independently.
  4. Meet assigned growth targets.
  5. Develop quarterly sales plans tailored to customer needs.
  6. Complete documentation related to validation processes.
  7. Provide clinical and product training, including formal in-service support, to hospital staff and prospects.
  8. Handle validation, training, sales processes, technical service, maintenance support, and device installation responsibilities.
  9. Implement strategies to increase revenue and profitability per account.
  10. Offer scheduled and on-demand support for equipment operation, troubleshooting, patient selection, and clinical best practices.
  11. Build and maintain relationships with key customers, opinion leaders, and strategic partners for technical and professional support.
  12. Plan to expand current business within the territory using established guidelines and metrics.
  13. Maintain knowledge of customer needs, market trends, competitors, and clinical literature related to Vapotherm and competitors, reporting all activities and intelligence in the CRM system.
  14. Provide feedback to Product Development for product improvements and new product ideas.
  15. Participate in ongoing clinical and business education activities.
  16. Organize or present at healthcare conferences and symposiums on Vapotherm technology and products.
  17. Stay updated on industry trends, competitor strategies, and latest clinical research related to Vapotherm.
  18. Attend local and national medical meetings as needed.
Position Requirements:
  • Preference for candidates with a clinical background or at least three years of experience in clinical education or sales within respiratory or critical care.
  • Hospital environment education experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Current knowledge of respiratory therapies.
  • Proven success influencing clinical use of new technologies in hospitals.
  • Excellent communication skills, including group presentations.
  • Strong relationship management skills with healthcare professionals.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a car for field activities.
  • Residence within the regional geography.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and online applications.
  • Intermediate English fluency (B1 or B2).
  • Ability to work from a home office.
  • Willingness to travel 50-65% within Germany to visit clients and support activities.

Additional attributes include a passion for healthcare, interest in medical innovations, high sales orientation, teamwork, excellent time management, hands-on ability, cultural sensitivity, adaptability, and trustworthiness in professional relationships.

This full-time role involves approximately 70% fieldwork and nationwide travel to support customer activities, including product demonstrations and validations. The employee must be able to sit or stand for extended periods, travel by car or plane, operate a computer, and occasionally lift up to 11 kilos.

Vapotherm is an equal opportunity employer, considering all qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or disability.
