Description

The Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) team is looking for a passionate, talented, and inventive Applied Scientist with a strong deep learning background, to build industry-leading Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) technology with Large Language Models (LLMs) and multimodal systems.

Key job responsibilities

As an Applied Scientist with the AGI team, you will work with talented peers to develop novel algorithms and modeling techniques to advance the state of the art of multi-modal LLMs and speech recognition technology. Your work will directly impact our customers through products and services utilizing speech and language technology. You will leverage Amazon’s diverse data sources and large-scale computing resources to accelerate advances in conversational AI.

About The Team

Our team develops multimodal foundation models for various applications in speech and audio. We collaborate with other teams to achieve state-of-the-art performance in speech technologies and support product teams to deliver innovative conversational AI solutions for a broad range of customers and use cases.

Basic Qualifications

• PhD, or a Master's degree with experience in CS, CE, ML, or related field
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or similar
• Experience with patents or publications in top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in professional software development
• Experience in building speech recognition, machine translation, and natural language processing systems (e.g., commercial speech products or government speech projects)
