Job Description for Application Specialist / Senior Technical Support

Location: Finland - Espoo OR Germany - Raunheim or Ulm

Contract Type: Hybrid Contract - Home & Office Based

Are you an Application Specialist or senior third-line Technical Support professional seeking a new challenge in a growing international business?

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Applications team for a market-leading Data and Process Analysis software. You will support leading European and global clients in maximizing the benefits of our Wedge software.

Reporting to our Wedge Supply Manager and collaborating with Application Specialists and Software Engineers, you will deliver high-level software support to end-users, field engineers, technicians, and support personnel. Your role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and debugging complex electro/mechanical equipment, computer systems, sophisticated software, and networked/wireless systems. You will be instrumental in resolving issues unresolved by primary support.

Your Responsibilities

As an Application Specialist, you will engage in technical problem-solving, directly influencing customer satisfaction and product reliability. You will work with various technical professionals, gaining insights into complex systems and enhancing your problem-solving and communication skills. Your efforts will help maintain the high quality and reliability of our Wedge products.

Daily Activities
  • Providing technical support and software maintenance
  • Programming and maintaining data interfaces (OPC, databases, REST APIs, ODBC, etc.)
  • Installing and configuring systems in customer environments

Our software primarily uses Java and SQL Server, operating mainly in Windows environments.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Knowledge of Windows Server environments
  • Programming experience
  • Knowledge of AWS and Azure (advantageous)
  • Familiarity with databases like SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle (advantageous)
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); other languages are a plus
  • Strong programming skills and adaptability to evolving environments
