We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Application engineer to join our team. This role will focus on supporting automation projects for Mitutoyo measuring instruments across Mitutoyo Europe, Sales Companies, and customer locations. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Business Solution Support Group to implement and manage automation solutions, offer technical expertise, and ensure smooth project execution.

You'll work closely in the Business Solution Support Group, where teamwork and open communication are key to successfully delivering automation projects. Together, we'll tackle exciting challenges, troubleshoot issues, and provide tailored solutions to our customers across Europe. • Technical Support : Provide application support for VMM (Vision Measuring Machines) systems and Sensors at Mitutoyo Europe (MEU), Sales Companies (SCOs), dealers and customers across Europe.
• Automation Collaboration : Work closely with the Business Solution Support Group members to deliver automation solutions and integration of Mitutoyo systems into customer workflows.
• Software Testing : Conduct testing of VMM and Sensor software versions (including new releases and bug fixes), report identified issues, and validate solutions.
• Customer Consultation : Analyze customer RFQs (Requests for Quotation) and recommend suitable VMM- and Sensor-based solutions.
• System Setup and Testing : Collaborate with product and project management teams to configure VMM and Sensor solutions and perform test measurements.
• Product Demonstration : Conduct live demonstrations of VMM and Sensor products for prospective customers.
• Event and Exhibition Support : Participate in European exhibitions (e.g., Control and EMO), including machine setup, inventory management, and interaction with SCOs.
• Training : Lead application workshops and training sessions for application engineers within Europe.
• Market Monitoring : Collaborate with Regional Marketing Division to identify new market opportunities and product development needs.
• Resource Development : Assist in creating sales guides, case studies, videos, competitor analyses, and other support materials for Sales Companies.
• Global Engagement : Actively participate in workshops organized by Mitutoyo Japan and MEU.
• Business trips : Willing to travel across Europe (approx. 25%).
• Engineering degree in the field of Mechatronics / Mechanical engineering or similar
• Good knowledge of the metrology market.
• Proficient in VMM and Sensors systems, including operation and programming (preferably Mitutoyo products).
• Strong understanding of the metrology market and international standards (e.g., ISO, DIN).
• Proven ability to train others; possessing an AUKOM Trainer Certificate is an advantage.
• Able to set up and perform tests on measurement machines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated and capable of working under pressure.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
