Übersicht

Reporting to the Business Line Manager, the Application Engineer is responsible for preparing quotations for all types of inquiries (budget to purchase phase) for the growing CO2 business in Europe/Germany. The Application Engineer is the primary technical contact for customers at the sales stage.

Verantwortungsbereiche

• Generate technical and commercial proposals for customers regarding the company’s products and engineering solutions.
• Review customer requests for proposals and project specifications to determine technical requirements, including but not limited to process design, equipment selection, sizing, costing, and schedule.
• Engage with customers to provide project timelines and timely project submittals, ensuring accurate information regarding products, delivery schedules, services, and pricing.
• Provide commercial and technical support to customers and the sales team in a timely manner.
• Correctly apply applicable industry standards.
• Maintain a quotation log and develop follow-up procedures to determine job status in Salesforce.
• Perform work, promote teamwork, and communicate in line with company values and internal standards (Safety, Quality, Schedule, Cost).
• Follow up with customers upon award of contract to summarize the contract, supply a list of comments and exceptions, and work with the Contract Administrator to open sales orders.
• Support product development through conceptual design development based on market feedback, data collection, design modifications, and engineering solutions.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred (BS in Mechanical Engineering a plus).
• Experience in the CO2 and industrial gas industry; renewable energy experience is a plus.
• Strong verbal communication skills: ability to speak clearly and persuasively, actively listen, ask appropriate questions, and respond well to inquiries.
• Strong written communication skills: ability to write clearly and accurately, providing detailed documentation, analysis, specifications, quotes, and recommendations regarding product line performance.
• Analytical skills: ability to identify complex problems, review related information, develop and evaluate options, and consider costs and benefits for optimal performance.
• Organizational skills: ability to manage multiple tasks on time, plan, prioritize, and organize work to achieve goals and objectives.
• Interpersonal skills: ability to build constructive and cooperative working relationships with multiple departments and customers.
• Computer skills: high proficiency in Microsoft Office software, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook; proficiency in order entry and customer database software.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Self-motivated, persistent, hands-on, results-oriented, with a strong sense of urgency and excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to discuss highly technical details of equipment with engineering, customers, and contract administration during the negotiation process.
• Demonstrated professionalism, maturity, customer service focus, and good judgment.
• Salesforce experience is an added value.
• Fluent spoken and written English; good German skills.
