Compass Lexecon in Berlin is seeking junior economists to support competition analysis on domestic and cross-border cases. You’ll work with senior staff, relate issues to economic theory, and back conclusions with empirical evidence.

You will contribute from day one, join a German-speaking team, and engage in projects across Europe while developing your expertise in microeconomics and econometrics.

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree in economics, ideally with microeconomics, IO and/or econometrics focus.
• Fluency in English required.
• Fluency in German desirable.

About the role:

We pride ourselves on providing Analysts with an opportunity to make a significant impact from day one. You will become an integral part of Compass Lexecon’s German-speaking team, with the crucial role of helping clients understand how competition works in their industry. You will contribute to cases in a variety of ways, working closely with senior staff to understand the issues that face the client, relating those issues to relevant economic theory, and supporting the analysis with solid and persuasive empirical evidence. You will be working on both domestic and international assignments in collaboration with our colleagues across Europe. You will also have the opportunity to influence and contribute to the growth of our German, Austrian and Swiss businesses. Analysts typically join us after completing their Master’s degree in economics. You will be based in Compass Lexecon’s Berlin office. Applications for this position will close on 31st March 2027.

What does our interview process look like?

Our interview process for Analysts involves two stages. The first stage is one 60-minute interview with both motivational and technical questions. The second stage includes a written case study and a technical interview. All interviews are currently being conducted virtually.
