Compass Lexecon in Berlin is seeking ambitious interns to support the Competition Practice. You will assist with qualitative and empirical analysis, working closely with senior staff to connect economic theory with real client issues.

Ideal candidates are pursuing or recently completed degrees in economics, with strong analytical and communication skills, fluent in English and with some German proficiency. This internship lasts 3–6 months and offers meaningful, hands-on experience.

Our Competition Practice provides expert economic advice on competition policy, economic and financial regulation, public policy and the assessment of damages in complex disputes.

We are looking to hire junior economists to help us to provide advice to our clients on some of the most high-profile cases before the European Commission, the General Court and national competition authorities, regulators and courts.

About the role:

We pride ourselves on providing Interns with an opportunity to make a significant impact from day one. As an Intern you will gain extensive hands‑on experience of working at an economic consultancy. You will contribute to cases in a variety of ways, working closely with senior staff to understand the issues that face the client, relating those issues to relevant economic theory, and supporting the analysis with solid and persuasive empirical evidence.

Interns typically join us for 3 - 6 months during, in-between, or shortly after completing their economics degree(s). Please indicate in your cover letter when you would be available to start your internship.

For those applying whilst completing their Bachelor's degree, please note that our Intern candidates are usually hired in their final year. We would consider only exceptional second-year students. If you are in your second year and unsuccessful in your application, we would encourage you to apply again next year.
