Job summary

AlgoSec, a leading cybersecurity company, is seeking a high-impact Resident Engineer to join our Sales team in Germany (home office). You’ll work with EMEA-based customers, primarily in Germany, advising on best practices and cross-functional collaboration.

You’ll engage with global customers, travel up to 50% when required, and leverage Linux/UNIX, networking, and firewall know-how to deliver secure connectivity and cloud security outcomes. Fluent German and English are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a similar position in software
• Experience in Linux/UNIX environments
• Experience with networking devices (Switches/Routers)
• Experience in firewall administration (Checkpoint/Cisco/Juniper/Fortinet/Palo Alto etc.)
• Experience with Cloud platforms and managing Cloud Security
• Excellent written and verbal German and English

Responsibilities

• Consult customers as a Trusted Advisor.
• Identify trends in customer technical landscape and escalate insights to internal teams.

What You’ll Do

• Consult customers with best practices as a 'Trusted Advisor'.
• Identify trends in customer technical landscape, org structures, or priorities, and escalade key insights to internal teams.
• Collaborate cross-functional with Sales Engineering, Customer Success, Product, Marketing, and Channel teams to deliver customer impact.

What We’re Looking For

• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position, in a software company.
• Experience in Linux/UNIX environments.
• Experience with networking devices (Switches, Routers etc.).
• Experience in firewall administration and configuration (Checkpoint, Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto etc.).
• Experience working with Cloud platforms and managing Cloud Security.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English.
• Ability to operate under pressure in deadline-driven situations and business emergencies.
• Experience dealing with Global customers.
• Customer oriented and ability to establish customer’s trust.
• Problem solver, result driven, demonstrating a ‘make it happen’ attitude, attention to details.
• Team player, pleasant to work with, with a high level of integrity, bright, self-learner.
• Ability to identify and elevate revenue-driving adoption or expansion signals.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.

Nice To Have

• Linux script: Perl/ Python/shell.
