Your responsibilities

*Your main daily tasks

• Welcoming and controlling access of people and vehicles

• Inspecting/filtering people, cabin and hold baggage, items carried, supplies and vehicles to detect prohibited items

• Carrying out manual security checks on persons

• Handling technical equipment intended for the performance of the tasks described above

• Reporting to the supervisor or his/her deputy any event or incident affecting the smooth running of security missions.

E.g. defection of equipment useful for carrying out security missions.

*Your other missions

• Participating in the integration of new employees

• Participating in waste sorting and energy saving through responsible behavior

The required profile

Studies / training

9th year of schooling in Luxembourg or equivalent

IMPORTANT: lux-Airport will provide specific training for 5 weeks.

This training will be followed by a basic certification examination, validated by the Police Grand-Ducale.

Note: Successful completion of this training is compulsory in order to work as an airport security officer.

It requires personal commitment outside the course sessions in order to assimilate all the theoretical and practical knowledge required.

Experience

• Successful first professional experience, including an internship or work-study programme.

• Experience in the field, preferably in private and/or government security, would be an advantage.

Skills and knowledge required

Mandatory:

Microsoft Office suite

*Languages

Mandatory:

• French: fluent spoken and written (C1 minimum)

• English: operational level in the business (B1 minimum)

Nice-to-have:

• Luxembourgish / German: the knowledge of those languages would be an asset.

*Know-how and interpersonal skills specific to the job

• Good customer contact and a collaborative professional attitude

• Ability to listen and manage complex situations with the public, while ensuring respect for all stakeholders (internal and external)

• Rigour and meticulousness in carrying out safety tasks and respecting the organisational framework

• Ability to work as part of a team

• Resilience to cope with the demands of the job

• Adaptability to regulatory changes, in particular by acquiring new knowledge

• Valid permanent B driving licence

• Criminal record extract

• The Police Grand-Ducale will carry out a background check to determine whether you are eligible for the profession.
