The UH-60 Mechanic performs maintenance and inspects on UH-60A/L/M systems maintaining FAA standards.
Principal Accountabilities
- Perform the full range of military tactical aircraft maintenance as a UH-60A/L/M mechanic, including repair, assembly, and modification of Army and DoD aircraft and their systems.
- Install, connect, and adjust systems such as fuel, heat, lubrication, hydraulic, engine, and transmission; install and align fuselage parts; balance and install tail rotor assemblies; rig flight control systems.
- Incorporate authorized modifications and changes.
- Conduct operational checks of hydraulic and fuel systems using external power sources and ground equipment.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, realign, or replace defective components or assemblies.
- Use hand tools, measuring devices, and diagnostic equipment properly.
- Determine repairability of faulty systems or assemblies.
- Interpret technical data accurately.
- Supervise lower-graded mechanics, coordinate with related trades, and ensure proper assembly sequence.
- Maintain maintenance forms and records.
Minimum Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Five years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience.
- FAA A&P or FCC License (Elements 1 and 3) required.
- FAA A&P with at least two years of aviation maintenance experience and two years on UH-60A/L/M MDS required; experience must be recent.
- If no A&P, FCC License with necessary experience and willingness to obtain license discussed with recruiter.
- Valid US Passport for travel to Germany.
- Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials (NAC-I T1) and US citizenship required.
- For Germany-specific work, TESA approval eligibility with 5 years aviation maintenance experience required.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
Knowledge & Skills
- Good communication skills, adaptable, and capable of troubleshooting entire aircraft systems.
- Knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical systems, and quality procedures.
- Ability to interpret technical data and determine repair solutions.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- Ability to climb, stand, stoop, and work in tiring positions.
- Lift parts and equipment up to 20 pounds frequently; up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Deployable to potential combat areas worldwide.
