Job Title: Aircraft Mechanic 2 (Avionics/Electrical)

The Aircraft Mechanic 2 (Avionics/Electrical) performs repairs and troubleshoots aircraft systems, including avionics, navigation, electrical, and communications systems.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Installing, removing, inspecting, testing, adjusting, or repairing avionics equipment such as radar, radio, and navigation systems.
  2. Installing and repairing electrical wiring and cables on aircraft according to specifications.
  3. Cutting, stripping, insulating wires, and assembling components like switches, controls, and junction boxes using hand tools and soldering irons.
  4. Preparing aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks.
  5. Performing scheduled and special inspections.
  6. Diagnosing and troubleshooting aircraft systems using specialized tools and test equipment.
  7. Performing operator maintenance on tools and ground support equipment.

Qualifications include:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least five (5) years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience within the last five years.
  • If no A&P certification, candidates must possess an FCC License with Elements 1 and 3, along with three (3) years of aviation maintenance experience, three (3) years of rotary wing aircraft experience, and two (2) years on the specific Mission Design Series (MDS).
  • Willingness to obtain FCC License prior to start if not already certified; contact the Recruiter for assistance.
  • Current and valid US Passport.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/CAC (NACI) US Government Clearance; US Citizenship required.
  • For Germany requirements: Ability to qualify for TESA approval with over five (5) years of aviation maintenance experience.

Travel may be required to support the task order.
