Zusammenfassung

WeLevel in Munich seeks a backend engineer to design and build the backend systems powering AI interactions in our AAA title, including FastAPI services, data pipelines, and Unreal Engine 5 integration.

You will own Docker-based deployments, CI/CD workflows, and collaborate with gameplay and narrative teams to deliver seamless API/game integration. This role offers a central Munich studio, a creative, fast-moving environment, relocation assistance, and a competitive salary with benefits.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of backend or full-stack engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python and FastAPI.
• Strong PostgreSQL experience including schema design and indexing.

Your Role

Design and build the backend systems that power intelligent NPC interactions, game-integrated language models, and narrative-aware behavior. The position involves developing FastAPI services, managing data pipelines and deployment workflows, and connecting backend systems to gameplay in Unreal Engine 5. This role combines backend engineering with AI systems work across infrastructure, tool design, and real-time gameplay integration.
