Job summary

BIP Deutschland is seeking an experienced AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy end-to-end AI-powered applications. You will work on RAG pipelines, multi-agent architectures, and scalable AI services, taking ownership from concept to production.

The role requires strong Python skills, Azure experience, and a solid grasp of the AI lifecycle. Collaboration with data scientists and software engineers is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and deploying AI/LLM-based applications.

AI Engineer

We are looking for an experienced AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy end-to-end AI-powered applications. The ideal candidate will work across a wide range of AI use cases, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, multi-agent architectures, and intelligent workflows, taking ownership of the full lifecycle from concept to production.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end AI applications, from data ingestion and model integration to deployment and monitoring
• Build and optimize RAG pipelines, including document ingestion, embedding strategies, vector databases, and retrieval logic
• Design and implement multi-agent systems, coordinating autonomous agents to solve complex tasks
• Integrate LLMs and AI services into scalable, production-grade systems
• Develop robust backend services and APIs using Python
• Deploy, monitor, and scale AI solutions on Azure, leveraging cloud-native services
• Ensure reliability, security, observability, and performance of AI systems in production
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and software engineers to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Stay up to date with emerging AI frameworks, protocols, and best practices

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python for production-grade software development
• Proven experience building AI/LLM-based applications (e.g., RAG, agents, conversational systems)
• Solid understanding of the end-to-end AI lifecycle: data ingestion, preprocessing, model usage, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring
• Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud, including deploying and operating AI services
• Knowledge of key AI communication and orchestration protocols, such as MCP and A2A
• Experience designing APIs and backend services (REST, async systems, streaming where applicable)
• Familiarity with vector databases, embeddings, and information retrieval techniques
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously on complex systems

Nice to Have

• Experience with multi-agent frameworks and orchestration patterns
• Familiarity with MLOps / LLMOps practices
• Experience with security, access control, and compliance in AI systems
• Exposure to frontend integration or full-stack AI applications

What we offer

The salary range for this position is between €75,000 and €85,000 gross per year, depending on the candidate’s experience, skills, and level of seniority.

The employment level and classification will be determined during the recruitment process based on the selected candidate’s profile and in compliance with applicable regulations and the Metalmeccanici Industria Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL).

The salary indicated refers solely to the Gross Annual Salary (RAL).

The overall compensation package may also include additional variable components linked to the achievement of specific individual and/or company objectives, as well as welfare programs and company benefits. The final compensation package will be defined based on the selected candidate’s profile and its alignment with the requirements of the position.
