Project description

The ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) Systems Engineer specializing in driving functionality plays a pivotal role in the development and integration of advanced safety systems within vehicles. Based at a client site in northern Germany, this position involves working directly with the client and cross-functional teams to design, implement, and validate active safety assist technologies, ensuring vehicles can drive autonomously and safely.

Responsibilities

  1. First Contact / Client Collaboration:
    Act as the primary point of contact for the customer, addressing their needs and concerns promptly and effectively close to the customer and on customer premises in Braunschweig.
    Work closely with the client to meet their requirements and expectations, ensuring a seamless operation and user experience.
  2. Design and Development:
    Requirements Management: Define and manage system requirements, ensuring that all driving-related specifications are met and documented.
    Lead the design and development of advanced driving assistance systems, including sensors and all relevant system components.
    Ensure comprehensive documentation of all driving-related systems requirements and architecture including full traceability on systems level and the link to the software requirements and architecture.
  3. Compliance:
    Ensure that driving systems comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
  4. System Validation:
    Conduct extensive testing and validation of driving systems in the vehicle.
  5. Troubleshooting:
    Diagnose and resolve issues related to driving systems, collaborating with software and hardware teams to implement solutions.
  6. Documentation:
    Ensure proper comprehensive problem description of all identified deviations and creation and prioritization of problem reports.

Skills

Must have
  1. Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in ADAS or related automotive systems, with a focus on driving functionalities, like ACC, predictive ACC, connected ACC, Emergency Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Intelligent Speed Assist, travel assist, traffic lights stop signs.
  3. Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of sensors (e.g., camera, radar), control algorithms, and systems management experience.
  4. Language: English (proficient), German B1.

  1. System Integration: Experience with integrating ADAS systems into vehicle architectures and working with CAN, CAN FD, and automotive ETH bus systems and related communication protocols.
  2. Problem Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose complex issues and implement effective solutions.

  7. Norms and Regulations: Familiar with relevant norms and regulations, like e.g. UNECE Regulation No. 152, NCAP, ISO 20077, ISO 26262, ISO 21448, ISO 23150, UNECE Regulation No. 79, EU General Safety Regulation (GSR).
  8. Certifications: Certification to work on battery electric vehicles (Level E).
  9. Prototype driving license.
  10. Speaking German language is a plus.
