This role has responsibility for oversight of finance processes and controls for three entities located in Germany and France. The role reports to the Senior Accounting Manager based remotely in Dormagen.
The work involves performing a subset of daily transactions and overseeing the work performed by one accountant in Berlin as well as the transactional work by an offshore team. Towards month-end, the team prepares necessary reconciliations and group-wide reporting for the entities. The role is also responsible for several external reporting deadlines, including tax filings and statistical reporting.
The candidate will join a motivated finance team that acts as a service provider for other departments, the managing director, the group finance team in Woburn, MA, USA, and the offshore team. External communication will mainly involve auditors and tax advisors in Germany and France.

What you will be doing :
Commercial Finance
- Act as a link between operational teams and the finance department to ensure effective communication and integration of business initiatives within finance
- Work with the Senior Manager Accounting to maintain and improve finance processes and communication
- Participate in ad hoc projects to support business growth and efficiency
Reporting & Compliance
- Support the preparation and review of monthly and quarterly US GAAP reporting for the three entities
- Assist in preparing annual accounts under local GAAPs (German HGB), French GAAP, and tax returns and audits
- Perform and review key monthly balance sheet reconciliations and general journals
- Review payroll and finance-related personnel matters
What are we looking for :
- Experienced accountant with first team leadership responsibility
- Fluent in English and German (both written and verbal); French skills are a plus
- Experience working within an international environment with virtual teams and different time zones
- Experience with multiple accounting GAAPs, preferably US GAAP and German HGB
- Experience with large ERP systems, preferably SAP
- Open to change management initiatives
- Dedicated, ambitious, and able to handle high work demands and shifting priorities
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction at all levels and with external providers
- Willingness to travel occasionally within EMEA (France and UK) and the USA
