Job summary

Techtronic Industries seeks an experienced finance professional to lead accounting operations in Germany, managing the local accounting team and driving monthly, quarterly and annual closings in line with IFRS and German GAAP.

The role requires SAP S/4HANA FI/MM/CO expertise, advanced Excel and MS 365, and fluent German and English. You will oversee ledgers, reconciliations, audits, and statutory reporting while coordinating internal and external audits.

Qualifications

• Degree in finance or accounting or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and German GAAP.
• Experience leading an accounting team.
• SAP S/4HANA FI/MM/CO experience is required.
• Advanced Excel and MS 365 skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations and lead the local accounting team.
• Coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual closings with timely reporting.
• Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, accruals and intercompany accounting.
• Prepare balance sheet, cash flow and FX reporting for EMEA Finance.

• Coordinate audits and provide evidence and resolve issues.
• Serve as SAP S/4HANA (FI/MM/CO) process expert.
• Support digital accounting initiatives and scalable close-management.
• Maintain process documentation and control narratives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day delivery of accounting operations across the company and lead, coach and develop the local accounting team.
• Manage and coordinate the operational monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely delivery to the Head of Financial Accounting in accordance with IFRS and German GAAP.
• Oversee the general ledger and sub-ledgers, including reconciliations, accruals, provisions, intercompany accounting and balance sheet substantiation.
• Prepare key balance sheet, cash flow and foreign exchange reporting for EMEA Finance and local management.
• Support and coordinate the operational preparation of statutory financial statements, as well as consolidation and management reporting requirements.
• Execute and monitor accounting controls within the established governance framework and ensure compliance with finance policies and documentation standards.
• Manage the day-to-day coordination of external and internal audits, including evidence provision, issue tracking and follow-up of agreed actions.
• Act as a key finance process expert (f/m/d) for SAP S/4HANA, particularly across FI/MM/CO and integrated accounting processes.
• Support project initiatives such as the implementation of digital accounting solutions, e-invoicing and scalable close-management practices.
• Maintain process documentation, control narratives and work instructions in accordance with applicable standards and the governance framework.

Your Profile:

• Extensive professional experience in accounting or financial reporting, ideally gained in an international or matrix organisation.
• Degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a comparable qualification; a recognised accounting qualification is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and German GAAP, with practical experience in monthly closing, statutory accounts, reconciliations, accounting controls and audits.
• Previous experience in leading, supervising or coordinating an accounting team.
• Strong SAP knowledge, preferably SAP S/4HANA with experience in FI/MM/CO; understanding of integrated MM and reporting processes is an advantage.
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft 365 skills.
• Good command of German and English
