Your Role

As Accountant (m/f/d/x) in the DACH Finance team, you are instrumental in ensuring the continuation of our profitable growth story. How so? By becoming a precise and reliable expert in HelloFresh’s accounting standards and processes. This position offers a true end to end accounting role. You will have responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, daily banking, order to cash accounting, GL accounting, intercompany and VAT accounting, and balance sheet reconciliation and consolidation. You are a key part of the monthly, quarterly and annual closing process and you support our internal and external audit partners as required. You work as a business partner to our Controlling and FP&A team, co-supervise the work of our accounting shared service center, and drive process improvements in our daily accounting operations.

Your area of responsibility
  • Balance sheet ownership: you are responsible for booking, controlling and consolidating the balance sheets of two of our entities. You continuously improve reconciliation sources, month end close processes and calculation logics as part of this ownership.
  • Bank management: you are responsible for the daily banking operations and cash bookings of all DACH entities. You work together with the Team Lead Accounting, our HelloConnect Accounting Coordinator, and Global Treasury team to ensure the accounts are clean and compliant at all times
  • Order to Cash accounting: you are responsible for booking and controlling the order to cash cycle of one or more DACH entities. You work together with our Team Lead Accounting and Global Finance team to guarantee the ongoing reconciliation of revenue, revenue provisions, account receivable, PSP and debtor accounts.
  • Intercompany accounting: you oversee and book intercompany charges are part of the month end close process.
  • Payroll and VAT accounting: you book and control our payroll and VAT positions each month. You work together with the DACH HR, Global Payroll and Global Tax teams to ensure the accounts are always in order and up to date.
  • Mentor and manage: you mentor and grow our shared service support together with our Team Lead Accounting and other colleagues in Accounting. You build top notch documentation around recurring processes and oversee the daily execution of the bookings.
Your Profile
  • Minimum 2–3 years of professional experience in a similar accounting role, backed by a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Solid knowledge of IFRS accounting principles across core areas (AR/AP, fixed assets, leases, inventory, intercompany); German HGB is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics NAV (or similar platforms)
  • Strong sense of structure and independence in working style; highly organized, reliable, and deadline-oriented
  • Detail-focused with a conscientious approach to tasks and high accuracy in execution
  • Proactive mindset with a drive for process improvement and optimization of workflows
  • Quick learner who takes initiative, communicates openly, and isn't afraid to ask questions or take on new responsibilities; ideally with first experience coordinating shared service functions
