Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations, post transactions, perform month-end close activities, and handle internal and external reporting, including annual audits.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in compliance with German GAAP.
• Serve as the sole accountant for the German entity, acting as the primary contact for all accounting and tax-related matters, coordinating with local advisors.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, and prepare annual and other financial reports.
• Prepare and submit all tax filings, including VAT, corporate income tax, payroll tax, and trade tax.
• Liaise with tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with German tax laws.
• Stay updated on tax regulation changes and implement necessary adjustments.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping for a German company.
• Strong knowledge of German GAAP (HGB), tax laws, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
• Highly autonomous, transparent, and proactive in work approach.
• Motivated self-starter with a 'default to action' mentality.
