The Account Manager, Service acts as the liaison between external customers, sales engineers, internal warehouses, and manufacturing groups. Responsibilities include managing customer and distributor orders, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive buyer experience. The role requires tact, attention to detail, quick decision-making, and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and process customer orders and inquiries.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with assigned customers and partners.
  • Ensure correct order entry and communicate realistic delivery dates.
  • Provide pricing, product availability, and scheduling information within guidelines.
  • Serve as the communication link between customers and the commercial team.
  • Track order activity and alert stakeholders of potential delivery issues. Work with Logistics to expedite orders.
  • Use product knowledge and customer data to facilitate communication.
  • Maintain high customer service levels, reflected by low complaints.
  • Collaborate with Production Control, Purchasing, and Shipping to meet customer needs.
  • Have basic knowledge of export order processing, including ocean and air shipment regulations, NAFTA, and other trade agreements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2-5 years of customer service experience in an office setting required.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of US trade compliance, including import/export regulations, ITAR, NAFTA, and free trade agreements.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt to change.
  • Willingness to take on additional tasks and work collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; SAP knowledge preferred.
  • Flexibility to rotate with other Service Representatives for holiday coverage.
