The successful candidate will work 40 hours per week (100 %). The position is classified within remuneration group 13 of the collective wage agreement among the German federal states (“Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst der Länder” – TV-L). The fixed term of employment is in accordance with Section 2 subsection 1 of the German Act on Fixed-Term Employment Contracts in Science and Academia (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz or WissZeitVG).If necessary, an extension of up to three years is possible if personal and legal requirements are met.
Your work area:
The General Geology working group at the Institute of Geosciences, which currently consists of three permanent and nine temporary scientific staff and two technical staff, is responsible for teaching in the fields of general geosciences, structural geology, tectonics and Earth surface processes in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in Geosciences. The research activities of the group combine studies of tectonics, climate and surface processes on different time scales with the overall aim of gaining a better understanding of these complex interacting processes that shape our planet and our habitat. Our laboratory facilities include a full range of low-temperature thermochronological methods as well as GIS resources, a 3D laboratory and a graphics laboratory. The working language of the research group is English.

There is the possibility of further academic qualification (habilitation). At least one third of the respective working time is available for personal research work.
The teaching load is based on the applicable requirements of the Teaching Obligation Ordinance (LehrVV) of the State of Brandenburg and the bandwidth regulation adopted by the Senate of the University of Potsdam.
