Zusammenfassung

The University of Konstanz invites applications for an Academic Position at pre- or postdoctoral level, part-time 50 %. The role focuses on research, teaching, and administrative support, with opportunities to pursue a PhD or habilitation. English and German are used for work.

Jointly develop Internet-based research methods and psychometric tools while mentoring students. Responsibilities include teaching at least 2 hours weekly, and co-mentoring Bachelor and Master theses.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in research and teaching is expected.
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of German is a plus.

The start date is October 15th, 2026 or by agreement. The position is available initially for three years (predoc) or two years (postdoc).

The University of Konstanz is a dynamic and internationally successful research university with approximately 10,000 students. The campus university’s architecture promotes interdisciplinary cooperation and a sense of community among researchers, lecturers and students. The University of Konstanz has been continuously funded by the German Excellence Strategy since 2006.

The successful candidate will integrate with the Research Methods, Assessment, and iScience team to conduct research, teach, and help with administrative tasks. There will be opportunity to work towards achieving a PhD or the post-PhD degree “Habilitation” (or equivalent). Applicants near or with finished Habilitation or near finishing of their PhD are also welcome to apply. Working languages are English and German.

Your Responsibilities

Your Competencies

• Degree in Psychology (predoc: Diploma or Master; postdoc: PhD), with good to very good grades
• Strong analytical, conceptual and communication skills
• Proficiency in English
• Expertise in at least one (postdoc: two) of the following: Methodology of Internet-based research, Experimental behavioral science, Psychological assessment, Development of web and/or mobile and/or AI applications
• Competent use of standard software and statistical software
• Programming skills and affinity with social media/Internet are welcome
