Jobbeschreibung

Abschlussarbeit (M.Sc.) | Update Management for distributed embedded systems for dynamic topology changes, Karlsruhe

In embedded systems with multiple microcontroller and/or microprocessor nodes, there are use cases where network nodes are dynamically added and potentially removed. This occurs during initial setup or production, as well as during the device's lifecycle, such as replacing or expanding a battery management system. A plug-and-play mechanism for a control unit as a network node is sought, which operates without manual configuration. To update new nodes, necessary changes in the embedded device must be transmitted to the cloud. The goal is to develop a concept that enables dynamic addition of nodes into an existing update management system of the embedded device.

We value your learning experience at Vector onsite. To balance work and study, we offer, upon individual agreement and depending on the activity, flexible remote work. Please note that pure remote work is not possible.

Your Tasks
  • Requirements analysis of use cases
  • Design of a dynamic integration of nodes into the update management system
  • Prototype implementation based on at least one application example
  • Practical evaluation and assessment of results
Your Profile
  • Studies in computer science, electrical engineering, or a comparable field
  • Good programming skills in C/C++
  • Ideally experience with Posix, Linux, and embedded device development
  • Good German and English skills
