The Max Weber Foundation - German Humanities Institutes Abroad is looking for the following position, starting by September 15, 2025
Die Max Weber Foundation maintains ten research institutes and several branch offices and project offices in European and non-European host countries as well as a joint office in Bonn. It employs around 350 people worldwide and supports numerous scholarship holders.
As part of its commitment to promoting international humanities research, the Max Weber Foundation is establishing a new institution in Ukraine, Lviv. This institution will serve as a hub for scholarly exchange, research collaboration, and cultural dialogue between Ukrainian, German, and international scholars. We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Coordinator to support the establishment and development of the institution’s activities.
• Coordinate the foundational and administrative activities of the institution in Ukraine
• Support the organization of academic programs, events, and public outreach activities
• Assist with communication strategies and representation of the institution in public and academic spheres
• Provide operational and communicative support to scholars and fellows affiliated with or visiting the institution
• Oversee logistical and operational matters, including office setup, budgeting, and reporting
• Master’s degree or equivalent in humanities, social sciences, international relations, or any other relevant field.
• Excellent organizational and intercultural communication skills
• High proficiency in written and spoken Ukrainian and English (willingness to learn German)
• Proven experience in project coordination or institutional development
• Experience working in international, cultural or academic environment
• Keen interest in the field of institutional development
