Introduction

Job offer for surveying engineers with laser scanning experience

Starting in fall 2020, we are looking for a 3D surveying engineer / geoinformatician (m/f/d) for our 3D projects in architecture, monument preservation, archaeology, and industry in a managerial position.

About the Company

ArcTron 3D Vermessungstechnik- und Softwareentwicklungs GmbH, headquartered in Altenthann near Regensburg, Germany, has 17 years of experience in 3D process chains, mainly in German-speaking countries but also globally active. We utilize various 3D scanning technologies, predominantly laser scanning and photogrammetry, for documenting objects from coins to landscapes. Our data evaluation is performed with industrial software solutions and our own developments, including CAD and 3D platforms.

Our interdisciplinary team of nearly 20 employees offers services such as terrestrial and airborne 3D documentation, photorealistic 3D modeling, multimedia visualization, environment transfer, 3D software development, and VR/AR solutions. We also undertake museum 3D projects and model or replica creation with 3D printers, focusing mainly on cultural heritage but increasingly serving industrial clients.

Your Tasks

You will oversee the organization, implementation, documentation, and content and economic control of 3D projects and process chains across our entire range of services.

Your Profile

• Strong leadership qualities and teamwork skills, working directly with management
• Many years of professional experience and an entrepreneurial mindset preferred
• Relevant educational background (Engineer’s degree / MA / MSc / Doctorate) in 3D Design, Surveying, Archaeology, Geoinformatics, or Geography
• Fluent in German and English (business level)
• Proficient with total stations and GPS (preferably Leica)
• Experienced with 3D laser scanners (preferably RIEGL & Leica)
• Skilled in SFM photogrammetry tools (e.g., Recap Pro, Reality Capture)
• Experienced in 3D modeling, photorealistic texturing, and deriving BIM/CAD data from laser scans
• Knowledge of geodata and project cost estimation
• Ability to independently plan, survey, and evaluate projects
• Willing to contribute to project acquisition and travel domestically and abroad
• Committed, flexible, proactive, and interested in new technologies

Desirable Software Skills

Experience with AutoDesk products, SFM photogrammetry software, general 3D data processing tools, and basic programming skills. Please specify your software qualifications in detail.
