OSM Thome is seeking a 2nd Officer for an Oil/Chemical Tanker trading in Europe. You will support safe navigation, cargo operations, and deck team management while maintaining high safety and operational standards.

Key responsibilities include watch-keeping, route planning, cargo handling, and supervising deck crew, with emphasis on regulatory compliance and safety drills.

Qualifikationen

• STCW II/1 or II/2 certificate required.
• Recent oil/chemical tanker experience in same or similar rank.
• Valid tanker endorsement and cargo handling training.
• Basic STCW safety certificates and medical fitness.

Aufgaben

• Stand bridge watch and assist the Master and Chief Officer in safe navigation.
• Plan and monitor routes, update charts and publications (paper/ECDIS).
• Assist with cargo and ballast operations as directed by the Chief Officer.
• Lead and supervise assigned deck crew in daily deck and maintenance work.
• Carry out safety rounds, drills, and inspections of assigned areas.
• Ensure compliance with company, flag state, and international regulations.

Requirements:

• Valid STCW II/1 or II/2 Certificate of Competency for 2nd Officer or equivalent
• Recent experience on Oil/Chemical Tankers in the same or similar rank
• Valid tanker endorsement and relevant cargo handling training
• Good knowledge of COLREG, ECDIS and bridge procedures
• Valid STCW basic and advanced safety certificates, medical fitness certificate
• Good English communication skills, strong safety and teamwork mindset
