Job summary

GoDevs in Germany is seeking a WordPress developer who can build real storefronts from designs, not just templates. You will create WooCommerce layouts, tailor themes, and write plugins when needed, while keeping twenty live stores fast and secure.

You will own performance, handle caching, image optimization, and Core Web Vitals on live product pages, and train clients when handing over projects after launch.

Most of the stores we ship run on WordPress and WooCommerce, and they are built, not assembled. We need a developer who knows the difference between configuring a theme and building one, and who can keep twenty live stores fast and healthy.

What you will do

• Build WooCommerce storefronts from a design: templates, category architecture, product pages, cart and checkout.
• Write custom themes and plugins where a plugin from the directory would be the wrong answer.
• Own performance: caching, image handling, query cost and Core Web Vitals on real product pages, not on an empty demo.
• Keep live stores updated and secure, and be the person who works out why an order did not go through.
• Hand sites over properly, including the admin training that stops a client needing us for a price change.

What we look for

• Real WordPress experience beyond page builders: the template hierarchy, hooks, and the loop.
• WooCommerce in production, including checkout customisation and order flow.
• An instinct for when a site is slow and the patience to prove why.

Nice to have

• Gutenberg block development. We publish our own block library.
• Payment gateway or courier API integrations.
• Migration experience: moving a live store without losing orders or rankings.
