ScotiaTech, a ScotiaGBS unit in Bogota, Colombia, seeks an experienced Talend Specialist (L7) to deliver ETL/data integration initiatives and establish future data roadmaps. The role collaborates with data architects, engineers, and analysts to support scalable data delivery and cloud initiatives.

Strong knowledge in Talend, Linux, and data modeling, with experience in data pipelines, ingestion, and transformations, is required.

Formación

• 1-2 years of experience using Talend for ETL/Data Integration/Data Warehousing.
• 1+ years of experience working in a Linux environment.
• Job Scheduling experience (TWS, Autosys, Control-m, etc.) Autosys preferred.
• Collaborate with tech/business stakeholders to gather requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Define Data Engineering Process and Technology strategies.

Purpose

The International Wealth Management (IWM) team is committed to delivering comprehensive wealth and asset management solutions to our clients. We are in the process of further expanding to additional new geographies. In support of this growth, we are looking for an experienced Talend Specialist (L7) to both deliver on existing initiatives and establish Business-Technology roadmaps for future initiatives.

Core Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of experience using Talend for ETL/Data Integration/Data Warehousing required.
• 1 or more years of experience working in a Linux environment required.
• Job Scheduling experience (TWS, Autosys, Control-m, etc.) Autosys preferred.
• Collaborate with technical/business leaders, product owners, software engineers, data architects, and data analysts to acquire and understand requirements/acceptance criteria.
• Participate in defining Data Engineering Process and Technology strategies.
• Design and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re‑designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and detail‑oriented skills.
• Strong communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems.
• (Desirable) Familiar with Data Integration with Salesforce Orgs.

What will you do?

• Designs and implements data integration modules for ETL functions.
• Communicates with business to obtain data requirements and performs data analysis on data provided.
• Designs and implements data integration modules for ETL functions.
• Investigates new technologies and advances, especially in the areas of ETL and Cloud.
• Work with cross-team product owners, developers, and test engineers to support QA processes.
• Support the business with ongoing product enhancements and feature development for major releases, work in parallel releases.
• Support the business with overall change management initiatives to ensure proper adoption of the Talend platform.
• Effectively communicates and builds rapport with team members, stakeholders and business partners using a variety of techniques and collaboration from initiation to close. Resolves conflicts/issues of medium complexity and escalates others as appropriate.

Dimensions

• 1-2 years of experience using Talend for ETL/Data Integration/Data Warehousing required.
• 2 years of experience developing ETL/Data Integration/Data Warehousing in general.
• 2 years of Data Engineering and Data Modeling experience required.
• 1 or more years of experience working in a Linux environment required.
• Job Scheduling experience (TWS, Autosys, Control-m, etc.) Autosys preferred.
• Financial industry knowledge in banking, servicing, lending, risk management, regulatory reporting/modeling preferred.
• Large volume data architecture experience is a plus.

Education / Experience

Nice to have:

• 1-2 years of experience working with Agile teams.
• Solid knowledge of full data engineering lifecycle.
• Knowledge of industry-wide technology strategies and best practices
• Strong analytic skills related to working with complex datasets.
• Experience in building data pipelines, data ingestions, data integrations, data preparations, data transformation, data structures, metadata, and traditional Data warehouses and Data Marts
• Ready to take ownership of the tasks assigned.
• Good communication, keeping team informed.

Language fluency in English and Spanish

• You are excellent in written and spoken English to clearly communicate complex issues.
