Job summary

WSP en Colombia seeks a Financial Project Manager to lead and coordinate the financial aspects of strategic projects from inception through completion. You will ensure budgets, forecasts, controls, cash flow, and reporting support decision-making and project performance.

You will collaborate with Project Managers, Project Controllers, Financial Analysts, and leaders, playing a key role in financial analysis, risk management, and corrective actions to drive financial success across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Master's degree or specialization in Finance, MBA, Project Management, or related discipline is highly desirable.
• 10+ years of experience in project financial management, financial planning, project controls, financial PMO environments, or similar roles.
• Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, financial control, and performance analysis for complex projects.
• Experience in engineering, infrastructure, construction, consulting, or professional services environments.
• Strong knowledge of cost management, budget control, profitability analysis, and cash flow management.
• Advanced proficiency in financial analysis and reporting tools.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards, or similar platforms.
• Ability to translate complex financial information into strategic recommendations.
• Leadership, communication, and stakeholder management across multiple levels.
• Excellent project management skills and multicultural collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the financial planning, management, and control of projects throughout their lifecycle.
• Coordinate development and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
• Oversee project revenue, costs, margins, profitability, and cash flow.
• Partner with Project Managers to achieve financial and contractual objectives.
• Analyze financial results, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities for projects.
• Develop and deliver executive-level financial reports to stakeholders.
• Monitor financial KPIs to evaluate project performance.
• Identify financial risks and optimization opportunities.
• Provide guidance to Project Controllers and Financial Analysts on project finance management.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and audit requirements.
• Participate in strategic planning, financial capacity analysis, and business decisions.
• Develop financial models and scenario analyses for strategic initiatives.
• Drive process improvement, automation, and financial efficiency across the organization.
