SOFTGIC in Bogotá, Colombia is seeking a Senior UniData Developer to own key areas of a large-scale payroll, HR, and benefits SaaS platform. You will write, debug, optimize, and maintain UniData BASIC code, and lead features from design through deployment.

The role is hands-on and requires independent problem solving, strong technical communication, and the ability to guide Agile teams while ensuring code quality, performance, and reliability across a legacy production system.

Formación

• 7+ years hands-on UniData experience with UniData/UniVerse or similar MultiValue BASIC platform.
• Deep knowledge of Payroll or HR business logic including taxes, garnishments, and benefits.
• Expert understanding of UniData internals including file locking, READU/RELEASE discipline, SELECT cursors, MATREAD, and phantom/batch processing.
• Ability to independently deliver complex solutions within a large legacy production codebase.
• Experience with AI-assisted coding tools like GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.

Responsabilidades

• Write, debug, optimize, and own production-quality UniData BASIC code across Payroll, HR, and Benefits modules.
• Lead complex features end-to-end from design through testing and deployment.
• Establish and enforce standards for code quality, file locking, error handling, and performance within UniData environments.
• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues across a large-scale payroll SaaS platform.
• Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate development and guide safe usage within UniBasic environments.
• Lead code reviews, architectural discussions, and identify technical risks early.
• Mentor junior engineers through pairing and guidance.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, and Support to translate business requirements into reliable solutions.
• Contribute to Agile/Scrum activities including sprint planning and design.
