Job summary

UFG Insurance is seeking a Sr Production Underwriter - Middle Market to join the Mountain Region. This role will underwrite multi-line, multi-industry business, manage renewal books, and mentor team members while collaborating with agency partners and internal teams.

This position offers a fully remote opportunity with the ideal candidate residing in Colorado and requires strong underwriting skills, leadership, and stakeholder management to deliver profitable results.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree preferred.
• Completion of AU, CIC and/or CPCU designations preferred.
• 5+ years commercial lines underwriting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Profitably underwrite complex new and renewal business with risk selection, pricing, and account management.
• Demonstrate critical thinking in assessing risk and exposures.
• Price risk commensurate with exposures and controls.
• Set terms and conditions to deliver a profitable portfolio.
• Document files with underwriting thought process.
• Mentor and train team members on underwriting practices.
• Achieve production goals within territory.
• Engage in marketing with agencies and insureds, including in-person and virtual calls.
• Develop and maintain relationships with producers and agencies.
• Collaborate with internal partners to ensure stakeholder alignment.
