Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer – Hydro & Dams in Colombia. The role leads structural analysis, design, assessment, and rehabilitation for hydroelectric and dam infrastructure, guiding projects from feasibility to construction support and dam safety evaluations.

The candidate should have 10+ years in structural engineering with hydro-related experience and strong English and French language proficiency to coordinate with international stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with structural specialization.
• Master's degree preferred; PhD asset.
• PE designation preferred (P.Eng.).
• 10+ years of professional structural engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design, analysis, and assessment of dams, spillways, intake structures, powerhouses, penstocks, galleries, retaining structures, and related infrastructure.
• Perform advanced structural analyses for reinforced concrete, steel, composite, and hydraulic structures.
• Lead structural condition assessments, rehabilitation studies, and asset management programs for hydroelectric and dam facilities.
• Develop design criteria, engineering calculations, technical specifications, and construction documentation.
• Review and approve structural designs, drawings, reports, and technical deliverables.
