WSP en Colombia is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer – Hydro & Dams to join our multidisciplinary team in Bogotá. The role covers planning, analysis, design and assessment of geotechnical aspects for hydroelectric, dam, water resources and major infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate has 6–9 years of relevant experience and advanced English and French language proficiency. This position offers opportunities to work on international projects and collaborate with specialists across disciplines.

Formación

• 6 to 9 years of professional geotechnical engineering experience.
• Experience with hydroelectric, dam, water resources, mining or major infrastructure projects.
• Experience involving dam safety programs is highly desirable.
• Ability to interpret geotechnical investigation data and develop engineering recommendations.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary and international project environments.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and support geotechnical investigations and site characterizations.
• Perform analyses for foundations, embankments, slopes, and water-retaining structures.
• Develop geotechnical designs for dams, hydro facilities, spillways, and powerhouses.
• Conduct slope stability, seepage, settlement, bearing capacity analyses.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, design specifications, and contract docs.
• Review geotechnical data and lab results.
• Support dam safety assessments and rehabilitation projects.
• Develop geotechnical models and numerical analyses for complex projects.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, hydrotechnical, electrical and environmental teams.
• Provide field support during construction and inspections.
• Ensure compliance with dam safety guidelines and industry standards.
• Assist in planning, budgeting, scheduling, and proposals.
• Communicate with clients in English and French.
