Platzi is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Learn) to build and own AI-enabled features that run in production, focusing on orchestration, evals, and scalable models used by millions of students across Latin America. You report to the AI Lead and will defend decisions about when to build and how to run cost-efficient systems.

Formación

• At least 5 years building software in production and owning scalable systems.
• Strong fundamentals in data modeling, APIs, performance, concurrency and failure modes.
• Experience with LLM-powered systems in production, not just prototypes.
• Comfort with multiple frameworks and clear architectural rationale.
• Experience with traditional ML and when a model beats a prompt.
• A product you built that we can see and use, plus bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsabilidades

• Build AI features shipped to students and own them in production.

Summary

As a Senior Software Engineer (Learn) at Platzi you're an engineer first: you build and own systems that hold up in production, and the material you build them with is AI. Orchestration, evals, and the models behind each decision, all serving how millions of students in Latin America learn in the product. You report to the AI Lead. Seniority here means judgment, not distance from the code. You take an ambiguous problem and come back with a decision you can defend, including the decision not to build, and you care about what your code costs to run and to maintain a year from now, not only about getting it merged.

Responsibilities

• Build AI features that ship to students, and own them in production: performance, reliability, cost, and how they recover when they break.
• Design the orchestration behind them: agents, tools and the flow between them, built to be debugged and not just demoed.
• Make evals part of how you work, so you know what improved, what regressed, and what you're trading off.
• Choose the right approach for each problem, whether that's an LLM, a classic model, or plain deterministic code.
• Make architecture decisions you can defend, and say no to complexity that doesn't pay for itself.
• Raise the bar around you through code review, standards, and the calls that stop bad decisions early.

Requirements

• At least 5 years building software in production, including owning a system through real scale or a migration.
• Strong fundamentals: data modeling, APIs, performance, concurrency and failure modes.
• You've taken LLM-powered systems to production, not prototypes, and you know where they broke.
• You move comfortably across frameworks like Pydantic, Agents SDK and A2A, and can explain why you chose each one.
• Experience with classic machine learning, and the judgment to know when a model beats a prompt.
• A product you built that we can see and use.
• Fluent English and Spanish.
