AgileEngine, LLC. is seeking a Software Architect to define a target-state design for an FDA-regulated SaaS product. You will assess the current system, architect scalable solutions, and lead a small mixed-technology team (PHP, C++, JavaScript) while ensuring regulatory compliance and backward compatibility.

Responsibilities include driving architectural standards, mentoring engineers, and improving CI/CD and release processes. Remote-friendly with flextime options and office availability.

Qualifications

• Lead software architect or senior tech leader with proven track record.
• 8+ years of experience in mixed-technology stacks (PHP, C++, JavaScript).
• Strong fundamentals in SOLID and GRASP; familiar with modern architecture patterns.
• Experience with layered architectures (DDD, Anti-Corruption Layer, Hexagonal).
• SaMD solutions design experience in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Assess current system architecture and data flows to identify debt and scalability constraints.
• Define target-state architecture aligned with DDD and clean architecture principles.
• Lead phased roadmap and refactor legacy components while maintaining backward compatibility.
• Mentor remote engineers and improve CI/CD, testing, and release processes.
• Create architectural documentation to aid future maintenance.
