Aztec Group in Colombia is seeking a skilled fund accounting professional to carry out routine day-to-day accounting of fund structures under the supervision of a Financial Reporting Manager. The role focuses on accuracy, timeliness and compliance.

You will maintain eFront and Excel working papers, assist with tax returns, investor reports, and respond to audit queries while mentoring junior staff and contributing to strategic projects in a flexible, hybrid environment with opportunity to work

Formación

• Part qualified ACCA/ACA or similar
• Strong financial services experience
• Computer literacy is essential
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships with colleagues, clients and contacts

Responsabilidades

• Bookkeep a complex range of funds and liaise with clients and intermediaries
• Prepare accounting matters for a portfolio of fund structures incl. investor reports and financial statements
• Deal with routine audit queries
• Prepare periodic bank reconciliations and supporting documents
• Maintain eFront and Excel working papers for accounting
• Handle preparation and reconciliation of tax returns
• Mentor junior staff under supervision of senior staff
• Support ongoing and new strategic projects

About the role:

Reports to Financial Reporting Manager. The purpose of this position is to carry out routine day-to-day accounting of fund structures under the direction of a Financial Reporting Manager.

Key responsibilities:

• Bookkeep a complex range of funds, management companies and associated fund structures and liaise with clients and intermediaries as necessary
• Complete all aspects of accounting matters for a portfolio of fund structures, including the preparation, reconciliation and proofing of investor reports, statutory financial statements, and ad-hoc investor queries
• Deal with the completion of routine audit queries
• Prepare periodic bank reconciliations and provide supporting documentation evidencing transactions
• Maintain accurate records on eFront and Microsoft Excel working paper schedules for all aspects of accounting
• Deal with the preparation and reconciliation of periodic direct and indirect tax returns
• Act as a mentor to junior staff under the supervision of senior staff
• Get involved and play an active part in supporting with ongoing and new strategic projects

Skills, knowledge, expertise:

• The candidate will be expected to be part qualified with a relevant professional qualification (preferably having commenced ACCA Professional level or ACA Advanced level)
• Strong financial services experience (to be supported through the Aztec Academy)
• Computer literacy skills are essential
• Very good interpersonal skills are required to develop close working relationships with colleagues, clients and business contacts
