Global Technology Services in Medellín, Colombia seeks a Senior Shopify Developer with strong full-stack web development experience to build, customize, and maintain high-performing e-commerce experiences.

The candidate should have deep Shopify storefront expertise, REST/GraphQL API skills, and experience with payments, UI/UX, and production support. Collaboration with regional teams and stakeholders is key.

• 5+ years of professional experience as a full-stack developer or in combined front-end/back-end web development roles.

What you will be doing

We are looking for a Senior Shopify Developer with strong full-stack web development experience to build, customize, and maintain high-performing e-commerce experiences.

The ideal candidate combines deep Shopify storefront expertise with strong front-end and back-end development skills, API integrations, payment processing knowledge, and a strong understanding of UI/UX and conversion-focused e-commerce. This person will be comfortable taking ownership of a production Shopify environment, troubleshooting issues independently, and working directly with business stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of professional experience as a full-stack developer or in combined front-end/back-end web development roles.

Strong hands-on experience building and customizing Shopify storefronts.

Strong understanding of REST and/or GraphQL APIs.

Proficiency with:

• Shopify theme architecture
• Shopify APIs / Admin API
• HTML
• CSS/SCSS
• Responsive and mobile-first development
• Back-end development experience with at least one modern language/framework, such as Node.js, Python, Ruby, or PHP.
• Experience integrating third-party platforms through APIs, particularly shipping, tracking, payment, or e-commerce services.
• Understanding of online payment processing, including tokenization and PCI compliance considerations.
• Strong UI/UX sensibility with an understanding of e-commerce conversion and customer experience.
• Experience independently supporting and troubleshooting production e-commerce sites.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical scope.
• Familiarity with online payment processing and credit card handling best practices (tokenization, PCI compliance considerations); direct experience with PaySafe or a comparable payment processor (Stripe, Braintree, Authorize.net, etc.) is a strong plus

Nice to Have

• Direct experience with AfterShip or similar post-purchase/shipment-tracking platforms
• Experience with e-commerce conversion optimization and analytics tools (GA4, Shopify Analytics, heatmaps)
• Experience with version control (Git) and basic CI/CD practices
• Background supporting a small business or startup as the sole or lead technical resource
• Experience in travel, logistics, shipping, or golf/sporting goods e-commerce

Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate, diagram and document complex engineering concepts.
